Guidance for Empaths, Sensitives and Clairsentience

Are you what many would call an Empath? Empathy is the ability to read and understand people and be in-tune with or resonate with others. But, if you are an Empath, I am not telling you anything new here. Empaths have the ability to scan another's psyche/energy field/emotions through the sense of feeling for thoughts and feelings; or for past, present, and future life occurrences. An Empath can feel another's true emotions to a point where the Empath can relate to that person by sensing true feelings that run deeper than those portrayed on the surface. An Empath can sense the truth behind a person’s cover. Empaths experience Empathy towards family, children, friends, close associates, complete strangers, pets, plants, Earth and even inanimate objects. An Empath is not held by time or space. Thus, an Empath can feel the emotions of people and things at a distance, such as different lifetimes and realities. Sound familiar?
While there is much we don't understand about how empathy works, we do know that everything has an energetic vibration or frequency and as an Empath you are able to sense these vibrations and recognize even the subtlest changes, undetectable to the naked eye or the five senses. Even if this ability is not something you are consciously doing, it is still occurring for you, just like breathing. Part of the definition of being an Empath means you are always "on," constantly open and processing people's feelings and energy.
Being an Empath who has not yet mastered techniques to manage your gift leaves you vulnerable. The vulnerability of an unskilled Empath is that you pick up STUFF belonging to other people. Mostly it happens without your conscious knowledge or consent. Yet this is your responsibility and your problem. You are not responsible for other peoples’ stuff. I repeat: YOU ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR OTHER PEOPLES’ STUFF! The trick is to learn to manage your gift or talent, such that you can have access to the knowledge and insight to help and understand others, while not, I repeat NOT, at the same time taking on their baggage and allowing energy vampires and energetic gunk to drain you.
You can learn to manage and adapt to your Empathic nature. Make it your intention to modify the intensity of the experience, through some of the below techniques, to assist you in managing the experience.
1. The most, most, most important thing for Empaths is to keep your energy crystal clear. Lower energy cannot exist simultaneously with higher energy, it must raise itself or dissipate.
a. Use of a tuning fork, sage smoke or a rattle can help you to clean your aura, as well as…
b. Aura cleansing guided meditations. I can record one for you and place it on YouTube if you think it would be helpful for you.
c. I use uplifting music (both the kind that makes me sing and want to groove and spiritual music of the ocean and chimes, etc.) to keep my vibration high and to cleanse my chakras. Stephen Halpern has some great cd’s including his chakra clearing cd.
d. I also make sure my environment is decorated with uplifting, high vibrating words and images so that I am surrounded with positivity and inspiration wherever I look (My friends and colleagues will confirm this and many people would say I am a bit over board with this, but it helps me.)
e. Smells also can help by taking time during meditation to use essential oils or just putting them in a diffuser near by. Lavender, citronella, rosemary peppermint (to quiet fire energy & the mind) and Pine needle (for grounding).
f. Space Clearing - I make sure my space is cleared regularly and keep salt bowls around especially in the bedroom to draw out lower vibrating energy.
g. Work with Archangel Michael asking him daily in the morning to clear your energy and in the evening to repeat the process. Visualize each chakra, intending that he clear, balance and reenergize your chakras, cleanse your energy body, and physical and spiritual bodies of any toxins or lower energies, cut any cords to persons who are draining you, remove any psychic daggers, and seal any rips or tears in your auric field. Or, in the evening you can simply ask that the angels clear you of the energies you picked up in the day before you drift off to sleep.
2. Stay grounded. Because of your gift, you can easily become disconnected from this reality and even consciously or subconsciously shift between worlds. It is important that you practice staying grounded in this reality when you are not purposely traveling. ;-)
a. Imagine roots growing out of your feet and down into mother earth.
b. Rub down your legs to your feet to help you draw energy down to the earth.
c. Thump your thymus 7 times to bring yourself back.
d. Use grounding stones (see below)
3. Dispel negative energy from others.
a. Mentally ask your angels to clear rooms and persons before you enter them, flooding them with diamond white light.
b. Ask Archangel Michael to vacuum away negative energy from others when you encounter it.
c. As soon as you begin to feel the energy of another – identify it! Is this mine or theirs? You may even ask, ‘does your right knee ache?’ Once you identify it, if it isn’t yours, immediately cut the cords to that person by calling on Archangel Michael and ask for him to shield you or lessen the intensity depending on what you require in that situation.
d. Again place salt bowls in rooms where you think you may be encountering energy (a meeting, a party)
e. Also place crystals such as amber & smoky quartz to absorb negative energy, amethyst to transform negative to positive, rose quartz is a good all purpose stone for clearing and drawing in loving energy.
4. Learn protection exercises & techniques.
a. Envision yourself, loved ones, vehicles, home, etc. encompassed in a purple bubble of protection from Archangel Michael.
b. Ask Archangel Michael to be with you.
c. Ask for etheric body guards and your guardian angel to surround their wings around you for extra protection.
d. Imagine yourself placed inside a mirrored crystal ball that deflects all negativity and psychic attack back to the sender with love.
e. Surround yourself in a black cloak with the intention that you will be unseen and nameless and faceless to all energies that are not of angelic sight. (for highly stressful situations)
f. Set the intention to draw your aura in close to you when you are in crowds. (This happens naturally but some how I feel more protected by intending it as well.)
g. Pray
h. Keep your vibration high by focusing on what is good, what there is to be grateful for, and when all else fails, begin mentally blessing the person and everyone and everything around you until you are out of the situation, as judgment (a lower vibration) cannot exist in the same moment as blessing (which is a higher vibration).
5. Pay attention to the subtle energies around you. NOTICE what is going on around you and what you are feeling. Many Empaths find it is helpful initially to journal the Empathic hits that happen to them throughout the day. The more you notice, the more you will learn about your unique talent and therefore better understand it.
6. Connect with your Spirit guides, angels and any other beings of light and ask for their guidance, protection, insight, wisdom, etc.
7. Learn to use your own spiritual connection to call forth healing energy at will, so you may assist yourself and others in managing the physical sensitivity.
a. Call on Archangel Raphael for healing and envision yourself filling with emerald green healing light.
b. Learn an energy healing technique such as Reiki, Pranic Healing®, Therapeutic Touch or some other energy healing technique to assist you in managing physical symptoms. I am not a big fan personally of EFT which is a tapping technique, but it works for many people.
c. Find an energy healer you resonate with and schedule regular (every 3 months or so after you feel ‘cleaned up’) energy sessions. I go before a big event to be sure I am as clear as I can be, and after to help me to clean up anything I accidentally picked up.
d. Schedule a massage and/or chiropractic and or osteopathic muscle manipulation treatment every quarter to keep your energy moving and remove blockages.
8. Stones are the oldest material on the earth; they are living creatures that offer their healing medicine to us. Stones can be worn by carrying a medicine pouch around your neck, in your purse, in your ears, as a bracelet or ring, in your pocket, etc. The three best repellants for negative energy are Tourmaline, Onyx and Obsidian. Just like you as an Empath, your stones must be cleaned regularly. Give your stones at least 2-3 hours of direct sunlight. Other options include: to run them under some tap water with the intention of clearing, or my favorite, to leave them out overnight in full moon energy.
a. I also particularly like combining the stone with a geometric shape of the pyramid which is a powerful protector in sacred geometry (and also keeps me close to my Egyptian connection!)
9. Other products/technology:
a. The Amethyst BioMat that is indispensable in cleaning out junky energy and feels great while doing it. It is like a body size heating pad. I just have the small portable one. It is an infrared lightwave (heat) producing mat that penetrates deep into the body. I lay on it every day when I feel energy accumulation and often fall asleep on it or lay on it while meditating when I feel guided, particularly if it is a clearing meditation. It uses infrared heat, coupled with negative ions and the healing power of Amethyst, to increase blood circulation, thus producing an artificial fever in which the body's immune system is stimulated. As you relax on top of the warm Amethyst, toxins are cleaned and drawn out of the body in as little as 30 minutes a day. It is pricey, but a great tool and a powerful way to keep you energetically clean.
b. Another technology is the Electromagnetic field (EMF) protectors such as the Earthcalm pendant. It's a scalar resonance electric circuit which grounds one to the Earth's energy field. It's important to understand that everyone's energy system is different. Some products, including the Earthcalm, may actually do the opposite of what they are intended to do and make your sensitivity even more pronounced. The Q-Link pendant is another option. While I do not own these pendants, I do own the diffuser which is plugged into some of the outlets at the house (as I currently live with a cell phone tower in my backyard which I have become highly sensitive to) and diffusers that attach to my cell phone. Even placing some Aventurine, sodalite or tourmaline in front of your computer (or in a circle around it depending on your set up) will help to deflect EMF energies. Additionally, utilizing orgonite accumulators or tower busters, depending on your locale, may be helpful in managing earth energies (well the man made ones) http://www.orgonite.info/what-is-orgonite.html.
